Frequently asked questions
- Why didn't my video get smaller?
- Videos that were already exported with efficient settings have little left to remove. Try the Smallest file quality or a lower maximum resolution.
- What format do I get back?
- An MP4 with H.264 video and AAC audio, which plays almost everywhere.
- How large a video can I use?
- Up to 300 MB. The video is processed in your browser's memory, so very long or very large files can run out of it. For those, the free VideoKit mobile app processes videos natively on your phone.
- Is my video uploaded anywhere?
- No. FFmpeg runs inside your browser tab as WebAssembly, so the video never leaves your device. The first run downloads the video engine (about 30 MB) from this site once and reuses it afterwards.
