Frequently asked questions
- Why did my PDF not get smaller?
- This tool re-encodes page images. A PDF that is mostly text (not scanned) has little image data to compress, so the saving can be small.
- Is selectable text kept?
- No. Because pages are rasterised, the compressed PDF is image-based and does not keep a selectable text layer.
